SIN was formed
in 2001 by long time friends Charles Daza, Gilchrist Tan and Kiel
Flores in Kawit, Cavite after talking about how they really wanted to
have a metal band. Shortly after, Macoy Manuel and Paul Rous jumped in
to complete the original line up. Eric Perlas of Tower of Doom later on
helped them record the demo that was to launch their career; after
submitting the demo to Joey Dizon of PULP Magazine, they were featured
in the publication and were eventually included in the PULP Summerslam
line-up.
While their four-track EP titled Pilgrimage was halfway
finished, vocalist Kiel Flores and bassist Paul Rous had to part with
the band due to personal reasons, allowing Charles Daza to step in as
their new frontman. Soon after finishing the EP, the band's long time
friends Rommel Vasquez and Alvin Quiñones joined in 2003 to once again
complete the lineup and breathe new life to SIN.
Their biggest
break, however, came when SIN competed in the Philippine leg of the
World Battle of the Bands (WBOB) in 2006. SIN was chosen as one of the
top three finalists along with Faspitch and Queso. As part of the
contest, their song Amorphosis was included in WBOB's promotional
compilation cd. All three bands toured Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. SIN
bagged second place in the final event held at the SM Mall of Asia.
Right after WBOB, SIN signed up with Eric Perlas' home studio-turned
independent record label, Tower Of Doom, and was set to release their
first full-length album. Prior to that, however, one of SIN's songs
titled Pilgrimage was included in the Tower of Doom Compilation CD
Volume 1 together with fellow artists from the label.
SIN
released the music video for their song Amorphosis in at the start of
2007. SIN also shared the stage with one of the biggest international
metal bands, Death Angel, during the Pulp Summerslam held on April 2007.
By the end of summer 2007, they hit the road with other Tower of Doom
bands during the Siege Tour 2007 with stops at several areas within
Luzon for two weeks straight. Live band performances and excerpts from
the tour were then compiled and released in the Tower of Doom Siege Tour
DVD 2007. In 2008, SIN played bigger shows with more international
metal bands like Darkest Hour, Mahatma, and fronted for Shadows Fall at
their concert in Manila. SIN was also featured as the cover for Pulp
Magazine's May 2008 issue while finishing off their soon to be released
album.
July 2008, after years of constant hard work and endless
struggles, Audio Summoned Flesh was finally released and is currently
available at major record stores nationwide made possible by Tower of
Doom's distribution arm, Galaxy Records. The album has 10 tracks of pure
in-your-face metal mayhem delivered to the extreme. Also coming up this
October to November is the Siege Tour 2008 which will not only cover
major areas in Luzon, but will also head to as far as Visayas and
Mindanao.
